Ever attended a meeting where the speaker droned on and on, while the audience doodled or, worse, dozed in their chairs? That’s what we’d call an instance of total audience disconnect. It happens when speakers launch into their presentation or speech without factoring in who is listening to them and why. Don’t let that happen to you.
Whether you are addressing one person, a few people or a large crowd, your job as a speaker is to reach and move your audience. This is only possible if you have worked hard—in advance—to know what your audience likes, dislikes and wants from you. And, equally importantly, have the tools to connect with them with a persuasive, convincing and compelling story.
