Giving and getting feedback is tricky. Even if it’s given in good faith, critical feedback that only points out mistakes, makes the recipient feel judged and belittled, and triggers a stress response in them. Positive feedback, on the other hand, helps motivate the recipient and makes them feel valued. It helps them understand what they’re doing right, and focus on doing more of it. In other words, it helps them grow.
